The Keiun Cirrus is hand-forged in Sanjo, Japan, with a nickel-Damascus exterior wrapped around a cobalt-alloy core — the pattern is the steel, layered and folded, not a surface treatment. It runs a convex edge suited to blunt and chop cutting, and it’s happy in wet or dry work, offered in a 5.5” and a 6.0”. Two grades are available, Cirrus YK and the higher YKC, so you can match the spend to the work. A genuine forged-Damascus pair for stylists who want craft and pattern in equal measure.

“We’d put the Cirrus to work on blunt and chop cutting where its convex edge is at its best, and the wet-or-dry tolerance makes it an easy one to keep in hand all day. The cobalt core under nickel-Damascus gives it real substance, and the pattern is forged in so it won’t rub away. Two honest notes: choose the grade deliberately, since YK and YKC aren’t priced the same, and like any layered Damascus blade it deserves a sharpener who knows the steel. Get that right and it’s a long-term keeper.”
